Every once in a while, you ask yourself the question, maybe even right before reading this, “Is my job really needed? Isn’t this all just a bunch of bullcrap?” I ask myself that question occasionally. Now I am not saying that I have your answer, but an article that was shared with me might get you closer.
Please read “On the Phenomenon of Bullshit Jobs.” It is excellently written and gave me more personal insight into the nature of certain areas of employment. Check it out and let me know if you have your answer!
So a federal law is about to go into effect and it has far reaching effects. As a part of the DMCA, it will be illegal to unlock your smartphone without your carrier’s consent. If you do so, you, as a first-time offender, could face a $500,000 fine and/or up to 5 years in jail…for unlocking the smartphone you already own. This is, quite possibly, the stupidest law of which I have heard.
Please sign the White House petition to put a stop to the stupidity and greed of corporate America. I did. My signature number is #36,923. Good luck and thank you!
I just read this article and it addresses some very interesting aspects of societal life. It specifically speaks to the behavioral role of wealth in everyday people. It explains that through certain experiments, they were able to prove that the richer a person viewed him/herself to be, the more unethical they behaved. Interesting indeed. Give it a read, be you poor, rich, or trying to get rich.
Anybody in a relationship should read this article I found. I, as some of you, will find it interesting while others will see it as a timely warning. Also, it is scientific! Take a look and let me know what you think!
I just read this article. It blew my mind a bit. The conclusions drawn from the associated study explain why certain events from my memory are more vivid than others. It is a short article, not too scientific, and, at the very least, beard-stroking interesting. Enjoy!
I have this friend. His name is Dave. He is a like minded media professional and is always searching for the next interesting thing to dive into head-first. In 2012, he started this new project, campaign, quest; I am not really sure what to call it. Regardless, it looks like a lot of fun. He will attempt to work 100 jobs in a single year! He already started off strong by becoming an NYC street musician right after the New Year. He has quite a lot of fortitude to take on a challenge like this and I wish him the best. Who knows, you may even see me in one of his jobs. Please check out the website, his videos on YouTube, subscribe on Facebook, follow on Twitter, or just send him some encouraging words via email. He will appreciate every last letter of good will. Enjoy!
